Tax Time Tea

February 17, 2015 By Cynthia 9 Comments

Tax time is not the most favorite time of the year for most of us.  Big and I will get a refund, but it will be less this year than most years in the past.  Not too excited about that!

I wanted to make our tax time fun.  So I put on my thinking cap and decided to have a Tax Time Tea!  It is a simple tea, but I think it added a bit of fun to the whole situation!

I grabbed a yard of fabric that had dollar bills on it and made a table runner.  I was going to make napkins also, but decided to save that fabric for another project!  (You will have to wait and see what that is!)

Tax Time Tea Enjoy filing your taxes while having a cup of tea and some sweets

I have had this little white teapot for quiet some time, so I don’t remember where I purchased it.  The cups are from my collection of fiestaware.  I love the sturdiness of the fiestaware and thought it was appropriate for a Tax Time Tea.  I really didn’t think that dainty cups and saucers would work!  Who knows, I may be slamming my cup on the table when I see the small refund we will get – who knows, we may pay this year!!!!

Tax Time Tea - make your tax time a little more fun with a Tax Time themed tea!

Big got in the kitchen and made some fun sugar cookies.  I love a good sugar cookie and these are delicious.  There is a hint of almond and nutmeg in them.  They are perfect and were easy to make.

I hope this Tax Time Tea inspires you to make paying taxes a little more fun.

Cynthia, I’m on to you. You’d rather be sewing money fabric and baking money cookies than doing your taxes! (me, too)

I would rather sew and bake! I am hoping I can go fabric shopping with some of my refund! Oh the possibilities!

What a fun idea! You can also pull out your new table runner for a monthly budget review and a tasty cup of tea. Love this.

I’m going to copy this. Will start hunting for dollar bill fabric right away. I once did a Tax tablescape, but it was not nearly as clever as yours.

First off, thanks so much for stopping by and commenting. I love to decorate my table for the holidays and thought, why not for tax time? I was excited to find the fabric and will be making more things with it. It is so fun!
