I was raised in a Military family. Others who were raised in Military families need no more explanation. They know what it was like. They know the rules and expectations of being a Military brat.
My father was in the Army for over 20 years. I say I was in the Army for 16 year. My life came to an abrupt change when he retired. One I wasn’t prepared for. We no longer ate dinner at 17:00 hours (nor did all the neighbor kids), we no longer moved every two or three years (well, I did when I moved out on my own!), we no longer had to act like Officer’s kids – we could just be kids.
There were things that didn’t change also. One of them was the rule of punctuality. I can still hear my Father say, “Punctuality is a trait of Leadership”. We were always punctual. We were often early. We were often the last to leave any event. We could be counted on to show up on time then and I can still be counted on to show up on time now.
Being punctual can be difficult at times in todays age. There is more traffic, more drop offs and pick ups and more places to have your kids.
Mom’s need all the help they can get when it comes to being on time and keeping on time! Recently, I joined the working force for a short time. I realized that may days of being on my “own time” were not going to apply any more. I knew that it was time that I went back to wearing a watch. I wanted a time piece that was not only functional but beautiful also. I wanted something that was different from all the other watches too.
I found it! The JORD watch. I am not only impressed with the time keeping abilities of the watch but I am also impressed with the beauty of the watch! This watch is lightweight which is a feature I really love! After going for years without a watch, I didn’t want something that would “weigh” me down. Also, I love the style of the watch. Based on the reaction of friends and strangers, they do too!
I am so happy to have my new JORD watch! Now I can continue to be punctual and know that my Father is smiling at me!
