Wow, what a busy week I have had! My beautiful daughter turned 24 over the past weekend and my Mother came to help us celebrate. Needless to say, we have been busy!
My daughter wanted a cookout on her birthday, so we grilled hot dogs. I also made potato salad and baked beans. For dessert, she wanted strawberry shortcake and I was happy to make it for her.
This week will be busy! My Mother will still be visiting so we will be doing some site seeing and some visiting. I have my menu planned and my shopping all done. I want to be able to enjoy time with family first.
You may notice that many of my days are filled with recipes that will create a meal that comes in around $5.00. You may ask how that is possible in today’s day. It is not easy, but it can be done. The biggest tip I can give you right now is to purchase your protein for no more than $2.50 per pound. I will be sharing more on how I manage to feed a family of 4 for around $5,00 (this is for the dinner meal).
Here is what is on the menu for this week:
Monday: Frittata with a garden salad (Meatless Monday)
Tuesday: Eat out
Wednesday: Sesame Chicken in the slow cooker, rice, sautéed zucchini (a $5.00 meal)
Thursday: Grilled cheese sandwich, Italian sausage soup
Friday: Impossibly Easy Cheeseburger Pie, green salad
Saturday: Homemade Pizza
Sunday: Roast Chicken, roasted carrots, mashed potatoes
