I lived in Texas for many years. As a matter of fact, my sweet baby girl was born outside of Dallas, Texas. My father, although born in Indiana, considered himself a Texan and loved to wear a big Cowboy Hat and boots every day! I guess you could say Texas and the South is in my blood!
If you had to name a quintessential Southern food, it would have to be Chicken Fried Steak. I love it!
For many years, Big has said, “No” to Chicken Fried Steak. I never really got a reason for the dislike of this wonderful dish.
Big’s dislike, has turned into love! Why, you may ask? It is all because of Ree Drummond! Her recipe for Chicken Fried Steak is the best I have ever had. Better than some of what I ate in Texas. It is true!
Try it for yourself!
