Welcome back to the Living Big on Less Money series. I am so glad that you are here to see what frugal tip I will be sharing this week. I am also excited that you will be sharing a few of your great tips and tricks.
Ever wonder what the freezer shelf life is of your leftover fried chicken or family favorite casserole is? I know I have been paying close attention to what is in my freezer. I am on a money saving journey most of my life, but lately, I have been pinching pennies with seriousness. One thing that I realized is that I was busy making sure that I saved all of our leftovers but then never used them!
Leftovers were getting freezer burned and ended up in the trash. I may as well have tossed them in the trash as soon as our meal was over. I know, what a waste right? Now, I am armed with this great printable Freezer Life of Leftovers list. I have it taped on the inside of my pantry so that I can easily reference it.
Labeling all of my leftovers helps too. I write the date I packed the leftovers and then, after checking my chart, I write the “use by” date. On nights when I am unable to follow my meal plan, I can easily pull a few bags of leftovers out of the freezer and we have a fun smorgasbord.
Make sure you print this Freezer Life of Leftovers sheet out and attach it to your pantry or to your freezer. It will help you use all those delicious leftovers you have and save money!
