I know that most of us have recipes that have been around for ever.
My banana bread recipe is one of those! My MIL gave it to me years ago and I use the recipe at least once a month, or whenever there are bananas that are a little to ripe to eat laying on the counter.
I have seen a lot of Banana Bread recipes that had chocolate chips in them lately. I decided to jump on the band wagon and add a few to my tried and true recipe.
The recipe turned out great! There was a little extra sweetness to it. I felt as if I were eating a piece of cake, and not a quick bread! I hope you will give it a try!
Banana Bread with Chocolate Chips
3 cups flour
3 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
1 tsp baking soda
1 cup white sugar
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1 cup milk
6 bananas, mashed
1 cup chocolate chips (or as much as you would like!)
Heat oven to 350 degrees.
Grease 2 loaf pans.
In a large bowl, mix flour, baking powder, salt and baking soda.
In a smaller bowl, mix the eggs, white sugar, brown sugar, vegetable oil and milk.
Add the wet ingredients to the flour and then add the bananas. Mix until blended. Add chocolate chips.
Pour batter into greased pans and bake at 350 for 45 to 50 minutes, or until toothpick inserted comes out clean.
What are some of your tried and true recipes? I would love to hear about them!
