You can feel really good about making this recipe. The ingredient are pure real food. You will find these ingredients in this cake mug recipe:
- Whole wheat flour
- Whole milk
- Unsweetened apple sauce
Make a few of these at a time and freeze them. They are so great to pop into a lunch box for a treat for your school age children. Heck, adults would be happy to find one of these in their lunch box also. When you add these to a lunch box, you won’t even have to thaw them. They will be ready to eat come lunch.

I added a drizzle of caramel to my cake, just because. You can also add some whipped cream or any type of jam that you love. I think the choices are endless.

- ¼ cup white whole wheat flour
- 2 Tablespoons honey
- 1 large egg beaten
- 1 Tablespoon whole milk
- 2 Tablespoons Unsweetened applesauce
- ½ Teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 2 Tablespoons Cocoa powder
Add the dry ingredients in ceramic mug and mix well.
Add the beaten egg, milk, applesauce and vanilla extract and mix until well combined.
Microwave for approximately 3 minutes. Cake should puff up and bake throughout.
Cool and serve.
