Taking time for myself has become something very important to me lately. I recently found that I had pretty much given up reading, knitting, crocheting and sewing. Housework? Forget it! I gave up on that too!
The past year has been pretty tough on my family and me. Life has really been a roller-coaster ride for all of us. I think the biggest thing I learned from all the craziness of the past year, is that we all need to do something each day that makes us happy. So, with that thought in mind, I began the process of remembering what things I love to do for myself that make me happy.
Every week, you will get to take a peek at my Works In Progress (WIPs) and also a few other things. I will let you know what I am reading or just finished reading and I may share some house projects with you also. You just never know! Wednesday will be a day for me to share a bit of me with you!
My first project is a shawl that I began working on a couple years ago. It is an easy pattern, but I apparently couldn’t count when I began it. I ripped the whole thing out and started over – I got smart and used stitch markers! The pattern is from Nicky Epstein’s Signature Scarves book. I just love her patterns.
Here is what the shawl will end up looking like.
Here is where I am at this week!
This shawl is a great one to work on at night when the tv is going or when you need to calm down and let your mind and body rest. I am on the third section of 10. I have a long way to go, but I am enjoying it!
As far as reading goes, I just finished a book that I picked up while on vacation in El Paso. I enjoyed reading Tuscan Holiday by Holly Chamberlin. It is an easy read about a Mother/Daughter relationship.
