This has been a pretty busy week for me. People have been in and out of the house regarding the flooding in the basement. I have also been on the phone dealing with all of the people required to clean up the mess!
Because of the all of the issues that revolve around the flooding, I am making sure that I am taking care of myself. One of my favorite ways to take care of myself is gardening. I know, many people would think that taking care of your self means getting a pedicure or a massage. Don’t get me wrong, I love those things also, but for me getting my hands in the dirt is therapy.
Knitting and other handwork is also therapy for me. This week, I was able to get two more sections of the Nicky Epstein shawl finished. The shawl is getting so long! I am also busy working on an appliqué Mug Rug for a swap I entered.
My Mug Rug swap partner is quicker than I am and I have already recieved the rugs that she made for me! I just love them and will be hanging them on a wall in my Sewing Room. I will share a photo of what she made me next week.
I got a little tired of always working on the Nicky Epstein shawl, so I decided to do a little crochet too. I was able to get most of a cotton dishcloth finished. I just need to weave in the ends. I am glad I pulled out my crochet hook. It has been a long time since I worked on any crochet and I need practice before I begin my daughter’s afghan. This dishcloth is not perfect by any means! I need to practice, practice, practice.
I spent a lot of time laying mulch in the front flower bed. Boy, that can tire a girl out! I love the Coral Bells, Columbines and Clematis. Can you tell I am partial to purple and red in my garden? I also add a bit of yellow for pop!
In the kitchen, I made a Spring Jello Mold. It was a bit time consuming to make, but well worth it. My daughter and I love to share Tea Time and this is a perfect treat for that.
Well, I think that about does it for the week. I am glad you dropped by and look forward to seeing what you have been up to this week.
