WIP Wednesday again! Wow, where has the week gone? I feel like I have been working and working and yet I am not seeing much done. Do you ever get that feeling?
I am still working on the skulls for the Halloween bunting. I now have all of the orange, green and purple lace skulls finished. Number 3 of the black just came out of the hoop. 3 more black skulls to go and I can get the bunting made. I am not really sure what I will use to attach the skulls to. I have seen many buntings made with bias tape, but I am afraid it will look to heavy and cover some of the lace work. I will look at some ribbon and see if that works. What do you think? Any great ideas?
I am coming along slowly but surely with the Seafarers Afghan. I ripped it out three times. I apparently don’t know how to count and don’t realize it until I get to stitch number 176. I have learned that I must sit in the quiet with just my thoughts when I begin this. Note to self: find a quiet spot and enjoy the process!
As I stated last week, I won’t be working on anything for myself right now. The holidays will be here faster than I think and I have a very long list of things to make. So my shawl and my 2 quilts are still on the back burner.
I am almost finished with this linen table runner. I am really loving it and would love to keep it for myself. I think I will end up giving it to a loved one for Christmas. I keep telling myself there will be time to make one for myself (the little voice in my head keeps trying to convince me that there will not. What if there is no more fabric in the world, it says. What if your machine breaks, it says. I am sure you have this little voice at times also!)
I am trying to figure out how to get the gimp to match end to end. I have never worked with it before, so it will be a challenge.
The last part of the table runner is to run this smaller gimp around the inside of the runner. The inside is organza that is embroidered with airy white flowers. I really love it!
As far as quilting is concerned, I have another project on the horizon. Big would love this small quilt to take on the van when she goes to work in D.C. I guess it gets pretty cold on the van and this will be the perfect sized lap quilt. The fabric came from a great Craftsy Mystery Box that I purchased a few months ago.
I would love to read your WIP Wednesday post. Leave a link below and I will pop over and see what your have been yup to!
