The Super Bowl for me is all about great food and great fun! I just love finger foods. I mean really, who doesn’t love foods like Chicken Wings, Chips and Dip and snack mixes? Oh yes, there are always some great desserts too!
In years past, I have attended some pretty great Super Bowl Parties! I have been to a few that were pretty large, up to 50 people! I have also been to a couple parties that were small and were just as much fun! I have to admit, the small parties were my favorites! So, this year, I decided to host my own party! I love having friends over and I love to cook for a crowd!
I wanted to make a few recipes that I knew the crowd would love. I also wanted to have a few decorations and create a Score Board to follow the game! If you have been hanging around Feeding Big for a while, you know that I am a frugal shopper and I was super excited to find a coupon for the Rubbermaid containers and the Sharpie pens! All I had to do was text COUPONS to TARGET and go shopping! I got $1.00 off the Rubbermaid Take A Long products and $1.00 off the Sharpies! Make sure you check this out soon – this offer is only good until February 8!
I made this Score Board and I am pretty darn proud of it. The board can be used throughout the football season and for any teams. The green name plates can be changed out and you can use a Sharpie to write the team names on them. I created little felt footballs that represent touchdowns and can be placed on the board as a team scores! I used a few of my many Sharpie markers to color the Score Board and I made sure there were a few of them laying around for folks to share their “plays.”
Any good host/hostess knows that it takes a few days to prepare for an event. I made the Spicy Cereal Mix a week before the party and stored it in Rubbermaid Take A Long container. I just love the Take A Long containers from Rubbermaid. They are not only great storage dishes, but they make it easy to pack a tasty lunch for Big.
I also made the Honey Shriracha Chicken Wings a few days before and stored them in the refrigerator in a large Rubbermaid container. It was so easy to put the entire container in the microwave and heat them up before the party started! I like making food before the Super Bowl! I want to make sure I am not stuck in the kitchen while all the fun is happening!
One tip I want to pass on to you: make sure you grab a Sharpie and label your Rubbermaid containers! I used a pretty paper label for mine, but you can write directly on the container too! “Tackle” clean-up by popping the lid on your containers and stowing the leftovers away. It is as easy as that!
