Fall is right around the corner and boy am I excited for it to be here! Fall brings so many of my favorite things with it – I love the change of colors on the trees, I love anything with pumpkin in it, I love the cooler weather and putting a sweater on for long walks in the park. I know many of you are happy to have sent your children back to school also! One thing I am not so fond of that accompanies fall is seasonal flu.
Many may not realize this, but I am a woman of — shall we say, a certain age. No, I am not going to tell you how old I am! What I will tell you is that because of my age, I make sure that I am as pro-active as I can be with my health. I get all of the required check ups and tests that are required for my age and I make sure that I have people in my life that I can trust to discuss my health care with.
Walgreens is a store that I can trust with my health care questions and needs. Recently I stopped by Walgreens to make sure I got my flu immunization. (Both Big and I get these every year – Big has asthma and can get really sick if she gets the flu) While at Walgreens, I read about a great program they are running right now. It is called Get a Shot, Give a Shot. From September 2nd through October 13th, for every immunization you got, Walgreens will provide a life-saving vaccine to a child in a developing country through the United Nation Foundation’s [email protected] Campaign.
I feel confident that on every trip to Walgreens, I will find what I need. The isles are clearly marked and if you can’t find something, the sales people are so helpful.
Getting my seasonal flu shot is not only protecting me this fall, but is helping out a child in need. Thanks to Walgreens and #CollectiveBias, I know I will have a healthy fall this year!
