Most of us have had or currently have a pet in our home. Statistics show that 83.3 million of us in the United States own dogs. My family is a part of that very large statistic.
Daisy came to us about 7 years ago. She was a tiny little pup and we fell in love with her the minute we saw her cute little face. She was so little she would fit in the palm of your hand. My daughter (who was 15 at the time) and I had visions of dressing her up in cute little outfits and carrying her around in stylish bags. You should know that at the time we brought Daisy home to be a family member, Paris Hilton was always toting her little pup around. To a teenager, this seemed very cool.
Over the years, my daughter and I have been able to dress her up. Daisy is never very happy about it, but she is a good sport and will go along with us!
Daisy and I became great companions. Big was always at work and my daughter was busy with friends, 4-H, Girl Scout, Dance, Tae-Kwon-Do and more. My little companion would follow me around the house while I was cleaning, gardening or working on a DIY project. Her favorite times were when I would sit for an hour or so and enjoy a good book and a cup of tea. She would look at me with longing eyes as I snacked on a cookie or some other “human” treat. Of course, I couldn’t resist that sweet face and I would give in and give her a bite of whatever I was eating.
As the years went by Daisy began to gain a little weight and she began to slow down a little too. She no longer followed me from room to room. She no longer wanted to “help” me in the garden. She had decided that laying on a soft pillow or the sofa was work enough. I began to be concerned and ashamed of myself for letting her get out of shape.
I was so excited to learn of the Purina One 28 Day Challenge. I stopped by the Purina One website and learned that Daisy could experience more energy, better digestion and a beautiful coat. I decided that Daisy would take part of the 28 Day Challenge. First, I grabbed the $3.00 off coupon towards a bag of Purina One dog food and then signed up for the challenge.
I am happy to report that Daisy has more energy now than she has in a long time. Taking her on a walk is no longer a chore, but it is something she looks forward to every day! Her coat is shiny and slick and her teeth are even cleaner!
I am so glad that I enrolled Daisy in the Purina One 28 Day Challenge. She is such an important part of our family and I am glad to know she is healthier and will be around for a long time!
