This Puppy Potty Station came out of a need to get more organized when it was time to take my cute little puppy, Daisy, for a walk.
When it comes to getting ready to take your puppy out of the house for his/her walk, it is much like having a child. Pet owners know what I mean. There is the leash, the potty bags, the garage door opener, the camera (you never know when they will do something cute!). Well, you get the idea.
In keeping with the Living Big on Less Money theme, I decided to repurpose a shower caddy I had laying around in the garage. The shower caddy had seen better days, so I was happy to find another use for it.
The process was pretty simple and I just love the way it came out. I think the whole project took about an hour, most of that was for drying time.
Here is what I did:
1.) Wash the shower caddy and make sure it dries completely
2.) Scrub any stuck on soap, etc. (I used some sandpaper)
3.) Spray paint (your choice of colors)
4.) Hang and enjoy!
I decided to hang the Puppy Potty Station close to the garage door. Beneath the Potty Station is an old leftover kitty litter container that I use for a temporary trash can. I toss the filled potty bags in the old litter container and on trash day, I throw them all out. It keeps the smell out of the trash can. One of my next projects will be to decorate the kitty littler container!
I think a little color behind the Potty Station would really spruce it up. I was thinking of using chalkboard paint! What do you think?
