Holiday giving is something that my family enjoys doing, not only during the Christmas holidays, but also all during the year.
The holidays are so busy with parties, shopping, getting gifts ready and more that I depend on Betty Crocker to help me spread holiday cheer with great tasting cookies. I know I can count on her to help me make the perfect cookies for holiday giving and sharing.
This year has been a tough one for one of my neighbors. She lives alone and her children live hours away. My neighbor is always quick to ask if she can help watch our animals when we go out of town. I often will find funny notes and cartoons in my mailbox. She is such a sweet and wonderful woman and is known and loved by everyone on the block.
Recently my neighbor had a couple of surgeries and has a hard time coming back from them. I have asked if I can help, but her pride won’t allow anyone to help. So, I decided I would make cookies and place them on her stoop and surprise her.
I needed a little help to pull this surprise off, so I asked some neighbor to help me out. He eagerly came over to help decorate cookies and to deliver the basket.
I used a cookie jar to pack the cookies in. I knew my neighbor didn’t have one and I thought if I gifted one to her, I could deliver cookies to her every month. Who doesn’t love a gift of great cookies, especially if they are made with Betty Crocker mixes?
Next step was to make sure the cookies were a real surprise. My assistant set the cookie jar on the doorstep of my neighbor, rang the bell and we ran! I wish I could have been there to see her face.
I want to spread some holiday cheer, so I am giving away a $20.00 gift card to one lucky visitor. Good luck!
How do you #spread cheer during the holidays?
