A couple of years ago, I noticed that my dog, Daisy, was getting some flaking skin on her back. I didn’t pay too much attention to it. I continued to brush her and hoped that her natural body oils would help relieve the issue.
Soon, I began to notice that she was loosing hair on her ears. I realized that there may be more of an issue other than just dry skin.
After a trip to Daisy’s veterinarian, I found out she has an auto immune disorder. I was surprised to learn that pets could have the same auto immune disorder that humans do.
The vet and I discussed her care and what her life would be like as she aged and continued to loose more hair. We discussed that she needed to have the best quality food and the best quality grooming products.
Since her auto immune disorder is just like a human’s I began to care for her as I would a human. Plenty of water, high quality food, exercise (but not enough to tire her), play time, snuggle time and regular grooming.
I recently came across Pet Caress skincare. While reading the label I realized the product is soothing and therapeutic and uses the best human quality ingredients. The products contain no harmful ingredients that could harm Daisy’s tender skin.
I think my favorite product is the Essential Care Sun Protector. During the summer I am outside digging in the garden for about 3 hours a day. Since Daisy is my constant companion, she is outside with me. I have always worried about taking her out with me and the possibility of her getting sunburn on her ears and head. One of the ingredients in the sun protector is Zinc Oxide. This is something I use when I am out in the sun for a long time so I am comfortable with it.
Giving Daisy a bath takes a bit of planning! I make sure to get her shampoo and towels ready before I get her in the sink.
Since Daisy has some health issues, I make sure of a few things:
- High grade shampoo
- Towels at the ready
- Cotton balls in her ears
- Water that is warm and not hot
There are times when Daisy needs a bath, but is not feeling well enough for one. During these times I use the Pet Caress Odor Control Mist. Not only does it help her smell better, but it also keeps her coat clean and looking great between baths.
I am so glad that I found the Pet Caress products for Daisy. She is my constant companion and I want the best for her. I also love that I can easily shop online for the products I need.
With the best care I can give Daisy, I know she will be around for a long time. She will be feeling great and looking good!
