Breakfast in bed is such a luxury to me. When my daughter was younger, I got used to getting up before my daughter and making sure a she had a great breakfast to start her day off right. Grabbing something to eat for myself was a necessity and not a luxury.
So, here at Feeding Big, I wanted to share a few ideas of how to prepare a great bed in breakfast for someone you love. Just to let you know, I am an affiliate with many companies and will make a small commission if you purchase something from one of them.
Plan the breakfast menu: Think about what you want to cook (see recipes below) and make sure you have the items in the refrigerator/pantry before the special day. You don’t want the recipient to have to lay in bed hungry all morning while you are at the store.
Make it fun: When preparing the food, use some heart-shaped cookie cutters to make pancakes, cut holes in toast and then fry an egg in it. Make little heart shaped butter.
Use the colors red and pink: Add a bowl of strawberries or cherries to the breakfast tray. Try using some red jam on an english muffin. If you are making pancakes, use food coloring and create pink pancakes. Use red or pink plates or flatware with a red or pink handles. You can easily find them online and in stores. Place some great napkins or a folded tablecloth on the tray.
Can’t Cook (or don’t want to)?: A smooth is quick and easy to make – grab some frozen fruit, add some vanilla yogurt and a little orange juice to a blender and blend. It will be delicious. Make some instant oatmeal, but top it with fresh fruit and some nuts. You can always get up early in the morning, drive to a nearby fast food restaruant and pick up a prepared breakfast. When you get home, plate it nicely and add a vase of flowers to the tray. The recipient will love it.
Clean up the kitchen: Everyone loves a nice breakfast in bed, but a clean kitchen is nicer. I suppose this tip is more for the men and children of the house. Give Mom a break and give her a clean kitchen. It may just be the best gift you can gift her.

I hope that these tip sand recipes will give you some inspiration for creating a Valentines Day Breakfast. Making a special breakfast of those you love can be so easy! How do you treat your loved one special on Valentines Day?
