Wondering how to make Alfredo sauce with cream cheese? Wonder no more, I have the perfect recipe for you.
Have you ever eaten out at a restaurant that has a fantastic, super creamy Alfredo sauce and wondered how they make it? I know I have.
My daughter recently got married and she wanted a local Italian restaurant to cater her rehearsal dinner. My whole family has enjoyed dining at this local eatery, but we have never ordered their pasta with Alfredo sauce.
So I was bit surprised when one of the dishes my daughter requested was pasta with Alfredo sauce. I, along with all of her wedding party, ate it with gusto.
Let me tell you, it was so creamy. The sauce stuck to the pasta and didn’t drip off like some sauces do.
I knew that I needed to recreate their recipe.
ALFREDO SAUCE WITH CREAM CHEESE
Now, let’s get honest. I don’t really think an authentic Italian restaurant makes their sauce using this recipe. I would have asked the owner, but I bet I would not have gotten the recipe from him!
So, after some searching on the internet and finding a few recipes that I thought would be good, I went to the kitchen and began creating what I hoped would be an easy, creamy Alfredo sauce.
I did it!
It is perfect.
It is creamy.
It is to die for.
The best part? I don’t have to leave the house when I crave Alfredo sauce. Now, because you are my friend, I want to tell you how to make Alfredo sauce with cream cheese.
ALFREDO SAUCE WITH CREAM CHEESE
Alfredo Sauce with cream cheese
Easy, creamy and delicious.
- 16 ounces pasta (I used Penne)
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 clove garlic, pressed
- 1 8 ounce package of cream cheese cubed
- 1 cup whipping cream
- 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese grated (more if you want some for topping)
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp freshly ground pepper
- Parsley For garnish (if desired)
Cook pasta in a large pan according to directions on package
Melt butter in a medium pan.
Add crushed garlic and stir for 1 minute (do not let it get brown)
Add the cream cheese and stir until melted. Use a wire whisk
Turn the heat to low and add the cream a little at a time. Continue to stir.
Add the parmesan cheese, salt and pepper. Continue to stir and heat until thoroughly warmed.
You can toss the pasta in the sauce, or pour the sauce over the pasta.
- We place the pasta in a bowl and then add the sauce. We all like different amounts of sauce and this is the easiest way to accomplish that.
