I love the holidays!
I love shopping and cooking and eating!
I love to decorate my house, both inside and out.
I think the joy of giving may be my favorite part of the holidays.
In our home, we make sure to remember all of the animals also. I know you saw the dog biscuit recipe I made not to long ago.
Today I am going to show you a quick, easy and fun gift to make for the wild birds. This would be a fun project to do with children, just be careful of the needle.
Cranberry Wreaths – For the Birds
Long Sewing Needle
Ribbon or Twine
Gather your materials together.
Cut a piece of fishing line about 12 inches long. Thread the needle with the fishing line.
String the cranberries on the thread by poking the needle through the bottom of the cranberry and going through, as straight as possible, to the top.
Continue stringing the cranberries until you reach a length of about 6 – 8 inches. You don’t want to make the strands too long.
Tie the ends of the fishing line together, pulling the knot close to the cranberries.
Cut the excess fishing line.
Cut a piece of ribbon or twine about 6 inches long.
Tie it around the fishing line at the point where your knot is.
You have now created a wonderful wreath for the wild birds. I used some golden raisins on the wreath below!
Hang it in a tree outside and enjoy watching the birds feast on your gift!
We have a fresh cut tree outside, just for the birds!
My next project for the outside tree will be bird seed ornaments!
I believe in creating fantastic meals on a budget. To me budgeting doesn't have to mean eating beans and rice for every meal.I love to scour recipe books for great recipes and then remake them to fit in my $5.00 dinner guidelines.Follow me and I will make sure your meals are not boring and won't break the bank!
